to travel during COVID-19?

BISHOP TRAINS TRAVEL CENTRE REOPENING

We are pleased to advise that the Rail Travel Centre at Bishop Auckland station will reopen on Monday 15th June 2020.  Our normal opening hours will apply for the time being, however, the closing time may be temporarily adjusted depending upon the level of business.

BUYING TICKETS

Social distancing and a one-way system will be in operation, passengers requiring tickets should enter the Travel Centre via the main station entrance and exit via the door directly onto the platform.

In addition to social distancing, Perspex screens are now in place at sales points and hand sanitiser is available for customers.

In order to assist with social distancing, Advance tickets will only be sold from 25 mins past each hour until 5 mins to each hour, tickets for immediate travel will be sold from 5 mins to the hour until train departure at 25 mins past the hour.

Clear signage will be in place and staff will be on hand to assist. Please be kind to staff as they get to grips with the new way of working.  Abuse will not be tolerated; anyone verbally abusing staff will not be served and will be instructed to leave the station.

TICKET HOLDERS

Passengers already in possession of their ticket should enter the station via the main entrance and make their way directly to the platform, please remember that penalty fares apply so you must buy your ticket before boarding the train.

Unfortunately, the waiting room is closed until further notice.

The exit route from the platform is via the gate at the side of the building.

An hourly service is operating throughout the day.

Don’t forget, face coverings are mandatory on public transport in England from Monday 15th June 2020 and without one you may be refused travel.
